Thoughts:
I enjoyed this sequel about as much as Truthwitch I’d say. I felt like the plot was growing more branches and detours and more foundation was being laid. So it will be exciting to see how much the plot is going to warp and change, then hopefully come together in the end. I really couldn’t predict any of the turns that were taken in this story, which I hope continues in the rest of series.
In Windwitch, we get to spend time with the same characters though in very different situations that the first book. We get even more world building, which was much needed. Unfortunately certain characters (Safiya and Merik obviously) were interacting as much and that really disappointed me because they were a big reason I enjoyed book one, but other characters (Iseult and the bloodwitch) were also getting closer here and discovering new things about themselves and the world, so that definitely made up for it.
I don’t particularly feel like this book was working towards any specific or extreme climax, but was rather coasting to get more information to the audience and push the overall story along. Either way I’m excited to see where book three takes it!
