4 stars! Spoiler free for this book, but may contain spoilers from the previous books!

This is the continuation of the Japanese inspired/anime-like story of Yumeko, the

kitsune, and her merry band of unique companions. The quest continues and the plot is very much that, just a quest. Many people found that to be slumpy, but I actually enjoyed the travels because I was also a fan of all the characters and their development along with the continued world building. There's more magic and more action as Yumeko develops her kitsune abilities. There's more romance! And not just the main couple, I live for the side romance just as much! And then the ending brings us a cliffhanger that's borderline heart breaking to transition to the finale. I still think if you like fantasy anime, dragon ball, assassin clans, and demon magic you'd highly enjoy this trilogy.
