3 stars!
I enjoyed this Felicity side story. I will be honest, I was 100% much more invested in the romantic aspects of the story because this was marketed as bi / ace rep (I think?) and I wanted to see how it was going to play out. I'm straight as they come but still love reading these stories, so I can't speak on the accuracy of the rep, but I still thought the romance had just the right amount of angst and cuteness. The other female lead was also pretty badass and I'm a sucker for females who can kick butt and take names. So clearly.. the romance was the driving force for me to finish this story and anytime it became more heavily plot/history building, I kinda tuned out because I wasn't interested. The plot wasn't particularly exciting or epic, but it wasn't so boring that I wanted to dnf. That's excluding the last quarter of the book! Which made me really happy -- because certain people and certain things (don't wanna give spoilers) -- and by the end I was left smiling and satisfied with how everything was wrapped up.
Not as good as A Gentleman's Guide like at all, and don't particularly recommend it if you're thinking of continuing the series. However, I still really like Mackenzi Lee's writing style and her incorporation of representation. Would def pick up another book of her's in the future.
