Thoughts:
I am loving all these Asian-centric books that are coming out lately including THIS ONE. It was such a fun read!
I enjoyed all the romances and betrayals and funny moments. Though I usually hate girl-hate-girl tropes, I wasn’t *too* bothered in this story because it wove into the predictions I had for this story. I really liked how the story wrapped up, I felt like all the strings I was interested were tied up nicely in a realistic way.
This honestly read like a slice-of-life anime more than a kdrama in my opinion, I could be a part of the minority on that thought. Still, the world of Taipei and the characters being aware of magical-ness of Loveboat made for a wonderfully romantic and whimsical contemporary story being pushed forward by unique and relatable characters.
My only gripe: the plot was kinda all over the place at times, but I really didn’t mind because honestly programs like this can feel that way when you’re in a different country for only a little bit of time and you want to get so many experiences done while there. Still sometimes, the twists and turns sometimes felt like their were giving me whiplash and not necessarily in the most enjoyable way in terms of pacing.
Altogether a lovely book and a lovely ending. I don’t know if I want to read the sequel? If there really is one? Because this one ended so nicely, but I may because I liked this author’s writing.
