Anna K by Jenny Lee

Review by Dorothy Requina

4 stars!

Disclaimer: I'm not familiar with the Anna Karenina classic, though I know this story is a retelling of it.

This book is also presented as Korean Gossip Girl which I wholeheartedly agree with and loved every bit of! I enjoyed reliving how the wildly rich live with such different societal expectations and privileges. Anna K's story begins as this cute and quaint and already sorted kinda life, but is completely turned upside down by the bad boy. BOY was this a steamy yet adorable turn of events for her. The only down side to her story was the insta-infatuation-lust thing, but I didn't ahve a problem overlooking it in this book. Hard conversations were had, hard decisions were made, all so heart breaking, but you root for Anna K's happiness no matter what! There are side stories as well that I equally felt invested in. Some of them touched on relevant youth topics like finding yourself, drug abuse, suicide, and first loves. I didn't personally shed tears reading this, but it definitely pulled at my heart strings.

Buy it on Amazon!

Check it out on Goodreads!

Also LOVE this alternate cover and really really want it for my collection!~
